TPADS is a Stage Society based (as its name suggests) in the village of Thringstone in North West Leicestershire. It’s a non-profit making organisation which provides entertainment to the local community and, at the same time, provides an outlet for local talent.. Starting as a 'Pantomime' Society (see below), the group went on to perform plays and comedy revues, and, in recent years, musicals.
We are a community-based group; with the majority of members living in the local area. Although not a ‘choral society’ in the traditional sense, we do put in a lot of hard work and (we are told) put on excellent shows which are great fun to do, and which our local audiences appreciate greatly! Our main show is a traditional comedy FAMILY pantomime which we stage every January.
For some years now, in May, we have ALSO staged a musical show - productions have included ‘My Fair Lady’, ‘Calamity Jane’, ‘Brigadoon’, ‘South Pacific’, ‘Carousel’, ‘Oliver!’, ‘Annie’ and ‘42nd Street’ to name just a few!
Welcome to ‘Thringstone Pantomime & Drama Society’
As well as providing local community entertainment, the society continues to make charitable donations. During each show the front-of-house team runs a raffle for various local charities, and many thousands of pounds have been donated in this way over the years. Members have also held a 'Christmas sing-a-long' outside a local supermarket, where a collection is taken for charity. In October 2007, and again in 2008 and 2009 some society members helped to entertain at the local Cancer Research Committee's 'Pink Party', raising a total of nearly £2000 for this excellent cause.
TPADS is proud to support local charities...

Continuing TPADS’ tradition of donating to charitable causes, following our 2012
pantomime, ‘Cinderella’, we were very pleased to be able to donate £500 to LEUKAEMIA
RESEARCH.
This was presented at the final performance on 28th January 2012.
A cheque was also presented to Thringstone House Community Centre to help with the
running costs of the centre. When accepting this cheque on behalf of the centre,
Mr. Ray Woodward pointed out that he hoped everyone would support the centre as much
as possible, especially in the current difficult financial situation, to help ensure
its continuing viability as a community resource.
