We are delighted that TPADS, from among hundreds of entries, were selected as a winner of a Diamond Jubilee Award for Leicester and Leicestershire. There were a total of 60 awards made to represent the sixty years of the Queen’s reign.
Mandy went along to the Award Ceremony at Beaumanor Hall where Lady Gretton, Lord-Lieutenant and Queen’s representative for Leicestershire, presented the awards.
She asked Mandy to pass on her thanks to everyone in the society for all the hard work TPADS do for the community and local charities, and to offer her congratulations and best wishes for the future.
Lady Gretton added that she felt it was fantastic that TPADS worked closely with all age groups and had been told, on a previous visit to Thringstone, that the group was ‘very good’!
It is hoped that the plaque will go on permanent display to mark this achievement in the Queen’s Jubilee Year.
